Bangkok- The Final Days (Part 1)
This is my last week of full time work. I decided that it would be nice to have a little time off to get organized before getting on a plane and flying to the U.S. I still don't know when I'm leaving or what my schedule will be yet- all of that hinges on my official appointment letter and my orders. I'm hoping something will happen this week, but we'll see.
Today was my last Montly Luncheon for AMCHAM. It was a good one, too. Khun Pichai, the Editor of the Bangkok Post, was our guest speaker and gave his opionion on the state of Thailand. It was probably the most frank I have heard a Thai be on the subject, which was refreshing.
At the luncheon, Dave Carden, our President this year, acknowleged my work for the past few years and gave me a certificate. We give a lot of certificates at AMCHAM. I have designed almost all of them and usually print them. They are supposed to be signed by our Executive Director and President. A lot of times, neither are availble when we have to present the certificate so I do the signing (I've perfected my boss's signature at this point- which could be a very useful thing!). I am proud to say that I did NOT create this certificate, and both the signatures are genuine. :) It's the little things in life, right?

Dear one,
You deserve a great deal more than a certificate - but how nice that they took the time to honor you. I know that you will be greatly missed.
Much love,
Mom
