Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was at my friends Meredith and Doug's apartment. Meredith made the turkey and stuffing and each of us brought food to share. As is usual with Thanksgiving, there was a TREMENDOUS amount of food- far more than anyone could consume in one meal. So, after we had dinner we all were given paper plates to fill with leftovers to take home!

We played board games and drank wine and were generally thankful for all of our blessings- as one should be on Thanksgiving. I was especially thankful since I had the day off (I shouldn't have to explain to you that Thanksgiving is NOT a holiday in Thailand- and no one goes shopping at 6am on Friday morning, either).

For those of you who are wondering about the current political situation, I am fine. Please don't let what you're hearing on the news alarm you. The protestors are far away from where I live and work, and their actions have little bearing on my day to day life. That being said, there are many people I know who have had to cancel their travel plans to and from Thailand, and I'm not sure if my sister-in-law is going to be able to make her visit here as planned next week. However, that's my biggest worry- I'm perfectly safe and in no imminent danger.

So, unless you hear otherwise from me, please don't panic!
