Another Typical Weekend (???!!!!)

Last weekend was just another in the typical life of an expat (hee hee).

Friday night we went to a "Dinner Dance Extravaganza" marking the end of Black History Month. The Black History Month Committee in Bangkok did a great job of organizing activities througout the month, and the dinner was a nice end to it all. However, I didn't stay too late since I had to wake up early Saturday morning.

Why, you ask? Saturday I took the Foreign Service Officer Test. I am applying to be a Foreign Service Officer, so I can work in Embassys around the world. (What can I say, I'm hooked on the overseas life, if you can't tell already!). The test was alright. Part of it is subjective, so it's always hard to tell. I'll know in 8-10 weeks if I passed and then, IF I pass, another 8-10 weeks before I know if I've been invited to the next phase of the process. We'll see.

To celebraate, we went to the Club Canada Snow Ball Saturday night (yes, #5 if you're keeping track). It was a fun evening, courtesy of my friends at BNH Hospital (we sat at their table for free). What could be better than champagne, dinner and dancing all night long?

I really do think this is the end of the black tie affairs, but who knows what the future holds?

Liz! You have truly found your niche! I think that title and job would suit you so much! It looks like things are going great and I really do hope that at some point I can get out there to experience it first-hand. Hope all is well! xoxox Bari
